Lani’s World

My granddaughter, Leilani, was born with severe autism in 2010. As her parents confronted the challenges of raising a special needs child, we all fell in love with Lani and welcomed her into our lives.

Lani would often spend the day at our house to give her parents a break. I began photographing her constantly shifting moods and frenetic activity.
