The Mediterranean World

A few years ago I embarked on a long-anticipated journey into distant time. I sought an encounter with the ancient past – older than the youth of my own country; older than the “middle age” of Europe. I found what I was looking for in the deserts of Egypt, in the back alleys of Damascus, on the barren plains of Anatolia and the hilltop temples of Greece. The images in this section are the photographic impressions of that journey through the Mediterranean world.
